Bat shit crazy is one step beyond just plain crazy. It is usually a temporary thing...sparked by something unexpected, or just really awful.
ex: As soon as he saw me humping his mom, he went bat shit crazy.

Ovechkin Update
It was announced yesterday that Ovechkin signed a thirteen year, 124 million dollar contract with the Washington Capitals. I quickly told The Girlfriend that her doctor friend was full of shit.
THIRTEEN years?! Hockey contracts are THAT long???? How come I don't see more 50-yr-olds skidaddling around out there with their stick thingies?
