Yes, I'm Still Alive (BARELY!)

Wow, it really has been a long time since I've posted, even by my standards. I've been busier than a one legged man in an ass kicking contest, but that really isn't an excuse, The Girlfriend manged to post several times and she is just as busy as I am. So here is a run down of what I've been doing.

Nov. 5 - Moved into The Girlfriend's new house. I like it. I think she made a good choice. The move was a pain in the ass because the movers showed up and tried to ass rape us on the rate, so we sent them home, rented a truck and did it ourselves......in the rain. Still manged to get everything done and then had a fence put up for the dogs all in one week. I managed to paint the master bath and what we are calling the media room for her. I did a decent job, but it all took way longer than expected (doesn't it always?).

Nov. 17 - Amandapalooza II. We flew out to Denver for The Girlfriend's birthday. We spent that Saturday learning to ski. Well, that's what The Girlfriend did. I got bored with ski school and decided to head down the mountain. I kept seeing all of these little kids doing it, so I figured I could handle it. Let me tell you, if you have never tried it, skiing is hard! Well, the going down the mountain part is easy, the turning and stopping is hard. I will say that skiers are very polite. They don't hesitate to bring you the ski you left twenty yards up the mountain. I discovered very quickly that once I built up a little speed, the only thing I could do to keep from falling off of the mountain was to drop down on my ass! Of course if you are flying along at Mach 1, you don't come to a graceful stop, there is a lot of snow packed into every crevice and you spent the next ten minutes collecting all of the gear that you shed. After the third or fourth time this happened, I started missing the practice slope in ski school.

I manged to survive and she had a great time, so it was all good. That Monday we went to the Monday Night Football game between the Titans and the Broncos. The stadium was great and the Bronco fans were nice, at least until the game started. The minute that Denver started to roll, the fans turned on us. Since we were the only Tennessee fans in our section, we were easy targets. I tell you, when a 60 year old man gets up in your face and yells "That's how we do it in Denver!" you quickly realize that you are all alone. Nov. 22 - We had Thanksgiving dinner with some friends of ours and then went to the hockey game and watched the Predators defeat the Red Wings (Red Wings SUCK!). It was a great game, but both of us had to work the next day. Nov. 23 - Black Friday. I had to work, but I managed to get off a little early and went to Best Buy to pick up this little gem. It's my very own 50" plasma TV! I have it all hooked up and the HD broadcasts look great! I think I got a decent deal, but I didn't really think the purchase through. I pulled my little sedan around to pick it up and quickly realized that there was no way this monster TV was gonna fit. I had to go to U-Haul, rent a truck, drive the TV back to the house, unload it, drive back to U-Haul, then drive the 25 miles back to the house. The whole ordeal took 4 hours! I guess I saved about $30 on the delivery charges, but more importantly I got to watch this: Tennessee beat Kentucky 52-50 in quadruple overtime earning a spot in the SEC championship game! If the Vols beat LSU, they go to a BCS bowl. Tennessee almost let the game slip away, but manged to hold on and possibly save Phil Fulmer's job. We shall see.

It's Sunday now and everybody (The Girlfriend and the dogs) are still sound asleep. It has been an exhausting month! Maybe I won't let another month go by before I post again. Crap, Daisy, my Golden Retriever, just farted! Now I have to end this so I can vacate the room.
